Why watch this film?
Who would have thought that a random story read by a grandfather to his grandson could become one of the most beloved films of generations? This is the feat achieved by the acclaimed 'The Princess Bride', a delightful classic movie in the style of the afternoon session. With an unstable journey, full of ups and downs, the Princess (Robin Wright) goes through real hardships after being abandoned by her beloved and falling into the hands of a despot. There are clumsy pirates, ninjas climbing mountains, giants... It's a story of fantasy and love, out of the ordinary, and it has the power to awaken the imagination of each one. Even more so when we remember that it all comes from a grandfather working his creativity to entertain his grandson, not very fond of books, on any given night. To watch and rewatch.

As a biopic it's not a great movie, but in terms of historical and political context, it works really well. Showing the landscape of the US after Kennedy's death.

This is a small movie, with a modest but relevant and touching story. Inspired by Stephen King's short novel, 'The Body', 'Stand By Me' has developed a certain cult status since its release that has inspired generations (series like 'Stranger Things' owe much to King and this particular movie). In addition, it has in its cast young actors who developed great careers years later, such as Kiefer Sutherland, Wil Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell.
When Harry Met Sally
They don't make romantic comedies like they used to and 'When Harry Met Sally' is proof of that. Like many productions from the 1980s and 1990s, it has become dated and the idealization of the male protagonist ends up being out of tune, yet it is possible to forgive. Even though the story is obvious, you spend the whole movie rooting for and against Harry (Billy Crystal), since the character is really annoying and the actor is not very charismatic, but deep down he manages to captivate you in some way. Sally (Meg Ryan) is the typical girl who never gets along with anyone and takes a long time to realize that she has already met the love of her life, the actress is perfect in the role. But, who steals the show is the best friend, played by the great Carrie Fisher. Without a doubt, she is one of the best parts of the production. 'When Harry Met Sally' is very funny and has the memorable scene of Ryan pretending to have an orgasm in a restaurant.

Robot Dreams
Sometimes we get so carried away by the marketing power of studios like Disney Pixar, and we overlook other avenues for deep and powerful animated stories that don't need excessively complex plots to evoke emotions. Such is the case with Robot Dreams, a Hispanic-French production directed by Pablo Berger (2012’s Snow White), based on the eponymous graphic novel by Sara Varon. Set in New York during the 80s, the story follows Dog, whose solitary life leads him to buy a robot for companionship. Their friendship grows, but an unfortunate day at the beach forces them to separate and long for the day of their reunion. Virtually without dialogue, with vibrant animation and a captivating visual language, the film tells a simple yet profoundly moving story about (curiously) human relationships and the course they take despite (or because of) accidents, fortuitous circumstances, and uncontrollable events that happen throughout life.
