Why watch this film?
"Une fille facile", a Cannes award-winning production, quietly arrived in the Netflix catalog. And what a pleasant surprise. Directed by Rebecca Zlotowski, the film takes advantage of a bucolic setting to bring a story about growth, maturity, and sexuality. To do this, it tells the story of Naima, a 16-year-old girl living in the beautiful city of Cannes. Things in her life change, however, during the summer when her cousin Sofia arrives from Paris with her urban beauty, her out-in-the-open sexuality, and entering a new phase of her life. With a well-defined setting, the great differential of "Une fille facile" lies in the layers that director Rebecca Zlotowski puts into this seemingly banal story about young relationships - and which reminds, in due proportions, "Call Me By Your Name" and other stories of summer romances. The director here hides everything very well and the experience with the film gains strength in gestures, silences, and looks.
