With his dark and brutal adaptation of '1922', based on Stephen King's work, director Zak Hilditch had already demonstrated the ability to capture a unique horror tone that delves into the darkest corners of human psychology. This atmosphere of paranoia and supernatural tension is what makes the difference between this movie and other mediocre ones within the genre. The performance of the protagonist, Carmen Ejogo ('True Detective', 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'), will keep you hooked from start to finish.
