Why watch this film?
One of the great films of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, winner of the Grand Prix and the work that made Pedro Almodóvar, the jury president, cry. However, '120 Beats Per Minute' is more than that. This is a cry from an entire generation that found itself face to face with the ghost of HIV and AIDS and who also saw the government and big pharmaceutical companies deny help - one side did not campaign for awareness and condom use, while the other sought to make millions as countless people died. However, director Robin Campillo tells this story with a lot of emotion and heart, focusing on the protagonists played by the trio Nahuel Pérez Biscayart, Arnaud Valois and Adèle Haenel (of 'Love at First Fight'). A touching story, to open our eyes and show us the importance of love, joy and fighting for what we believe in.
