Why watch this film?

A truly memorable movie, winning five Oscars including Best Picture, Best Actor (Dustin Hoffman) and Best Supporting Actress (Meryl Streep). The story is still relevant today, portraying various families around the world - and it divides the audience that watches it. Is the father who only thinks about work and pays little attention to his wife and son right? Is the wife who, feeling oppressed, leaves and leaves her son behind right? There are no easy answers and this is a story with many layers, showing us that we need to leave behind some outdated concepts (see: they were already outdated in 1979!) to be better people.
