What happens when an ordinary man gains powers and believes he can turn into a superhero? We've seen this perspective from Hollywood a few times, but now we can follow the interpretation of Korean cinema, which has been specializing more and more in action movies. The direction is by Sang-ho Yeon, the same one from 'Train to Busan'. Recommended for those who want entertainment with good special effects, good action sequences, and a pinch of humor just right. Outside of South Korea, 'Psychokinesis' is exclusive to Netflix.

After "Psychokinesis", South Korean director Sang-ho Yeon (from the acclaimed "Invasion Zombie") returns with another fantasy proposal for Netflix. "Jung_E" embraces dystopian cyberpunk in a story where humanity has taken refuge in space colonies to escape climate change, but war conflicts don't stop. So when a fierce mercenary falls in battle, her brain is cloned to create the perfect artificial intelligence that will end the war once and for all. Although the visual effects are a bit below average, the action is fast and well directed. It embraces more its action side than the depth of science fiction (it's not "Ex-Machina", come on), but it's a very entertaining production for fans of futuristic stories.
Train to Busan
'Invasion of the Zombies' dives into the universe of its subgenre from another perspective, that of Korean cinema. The difference in geographical and social perspective results in a movie of familiar theme yet new garments. It brings a lot of entertainment to those who like horror or wild action, but it also uses terror to draw an emphatic social critique. The movie makes excellent use of space geometry to benefit the unfolding of the story and create an atmosphere of claustrophobia and horror, and the elements of Asian blockbuster cinema are present and striking for the rhythm and atmosphere that the movie builds. The story manages to successfully transit between tension and remarkable moments that captivate the audience through emotion, delivering a complete work that will please horror fans very much.

Jean-Claude Van Damme makes his starring debut in the descriptively titled Bloodsport. An American soldier at large in Hong Kong, Van Damme becomes involved in the Kumite, a highly illegal kickboxing competition. Whoever survives the bout will be crowned Kumite champion of the world…a title that has plenty of challengers with homicide in their hearts. The finale offers a duel to the death between Van Damme and reigning Kumite king Bolo Yeung. The script is based on the real-life exploits of martial arts champ Frank Dux, who serves as the film's fight coordinator.

With shades of Dan Brown and a script by Jean Claude Van Damme himself, alongside Les Weldon (screenwriter of another action star film, Replicant), the movie is what every fan of the Belgian actor wants: brawling, with a fun plot, and never boring.
