Why watch this film?

Death can come at any moment. Without asking permission, without making plans. What remains are thoughts, unfinished plans, and a life interrupted. 'Arábia' uses this as a starting point for a true character study of a young, ordinary, working class man, much like millions of other Brazilians, who have lived a life without prospects. Masterfully directed by João Dumans and Affonso Uchoa, this is one of those films that draws you in and touches you. The script relies heavily on narrations in off, but in this case it is not a deficiency but an interesting format to give voice to those no longer among us.
