Why watch this film?
In this movie, Wolverine, the comic book character, returns more mature, heavy and bloody. But more than that: director James Mangold pays tribute to western films, including references to the movie 'The Wild Bunch', arriving at a final result that deals with mature subjects like paternity, the elderly and death. A true punch in the face. A beautiful example of how "superhero movies" can aggregate elements from different genres.

Walk the Line
A biopic featuring standout performances, diving into the early career of one of the biggest names in country and rock'n'roll. The script may have its flaws, but the film as a whole is entertaining and engaging.The end result could be nothing else but accolades, including an Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Actress for Reese Witherspoon, and a Golden Globe for Best Actor for Phoenix.
The Wolverine
This is the second solo Wolverine movie, taking place some time after 'X-Men: The Last Stand'. It's a definite rescue of the character after the failures of 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' and the last X-Men film. Directed by the capable James Mangold ('The Unforgiven'), the plot is loosely based on the 1980s comic book miniseries 'Wolverine: The Last Stand' written by Chris Claremont and illustrated by Frank Miller. Despite its last section relying on superhero movie clichés to wrap up the story, it's an interesting movie.
Ford v Ferrari
"Ford v Ferrari" is a movie that pits these two names against each other in a true story (albeit with its poetic liberties). Bitten by the insults of Enzo Ferrari, Henry Ford II determined that the car that could beat the famous Scuderia Ferrari in their own backyard: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The cinematic version of this challenge is directed by James Mangold ("Logan", "Johnny & June"), who does a competent job creating tension and drama even for those who know the outcome of the story. The reconstruction of the 1960s, including sets, costumes and, of course, cars, is impeccable, as are the racing sequences - which do not bring that feeling of computer graphics, being one level above "Rush" in this sense. In the performances, we have a good Matt Damon in the skin of the also mythical Carroll Shelby, and an incredible (once again!) Christian Bale as the tempestuous and fast British driver Ken Miles. Racing fans may feel the lack of more screen time for other drivers who participated in all this, such as Chris Amon, Bruce McLaren and Dan Gurney, but the choice of the script makes sense for the construction of a human and engaging story. A story that will certainly impact everyone, whether they are fans or not of motor racing.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
Indiana Jones is one of the most iconic characters in movie history, perhaps the most iconic. The hat-and-whip-wielding explorer has found a special place in the popular imagination, and the theme music still follows Harrison Ford, the actor behind Indy, to this day. So, 15 years after the mediocre Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and 42 years since the release of the first film, Harrison Ford returns to the legendary role of the archaeologist for his final adventure. The film takes place in 1969 and Indy, struggling to fit into a world that seems to have left him behind, is about to retire after spending over a decade teaching at a university in New York. However, the adventure calls him back when his ward (Phoebe Waller-Bridge from Fleabag) shows up looking for an extremely rare artifact. That's when director James Mangold (known for Logan) takes the reins of this adventure, replacing Steven Spielberg for the first time, with unexpected moments for the character, from a fun adventure in Morocco to moments that recall the Doctor Who series. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a film that balances the past, present and future, trying to create a new path for Indy, while celebrating all that this character has given us on the big screen. The Order
In The Order, Van Damme plays a man accused of murder who seeks a sacred scripture in Jerusalem before it falls into the wrong hands, jeopardizing his freedom. With shades of Dan Brown and a script by Jean Claude Van Damme himself, alongside Les Weldon (screenwriter of another action star film, Replicant), the movie is what every fan of the Belgian actor wants: brawling, with a fun plot, and never boring.
Enemies Closer
Enemies Closer, a movie starring Van Damme, brings a fun story: Henry (Tom Everett Scott) and Clay (Orlando Jones) are mortal enemies who must set aside their differences to help a drug lord (Jean-Claude Van Damme) locate a missing drug shipment. The film features a plot full of twists that keeps the viewer constantly engaged, in a good mix of suspense and action. Van Damme also steps out of his comfort zone, playing this crime boss full of quirks - but still with plenty of brawling.
The Replicant
Replicant, one of Van Damme's best movies, goes far beyond just brawling. Firstly, the plot presents an intriguing reflection on ethics and morality in the age of advanced technology, exploring the theme of human cloning through a serial killer who is cloned to help capture the criminal, working alongside two policemen. Moreover, Van Damme's acting skills and the intensity of the action scenes provide thrilling entertainment for genre lovers with a mix of suspense, drama, and adrenaline.
