Why watch this film?

Part of the official selection of the Toronto Film Festival, 'Lake Porcupine' is a movie about maturation and discovery, tackling that exact moment between the end of childhood and the beginning of adolescence. All this is backed up by the excellent performances by Charlotte Salisbury and Lucinda Armstrong Hall. But it's not a story about definitions or anything like that, but rather experimentation - all through the beautiful and delicate gaze of Ingrid Veninger, who directs and writes the feature film. The photography, with the bucolic side of Canada, must also be highlighted, transforming into images the relationship between the protagonists.
