Night of the Living Dead

A group barricades in a farmhouse to escape flesh-eating monsters.

Why watch this film?

Great classic of filmmaker George A. Romero, made entirely independently and with low budget, the film is considered a great milestone in genre cinema, for revitalizing terror and subverting its conceptions, opening up a range of possibilities for the genre, and using it masterfully as a vehicle to address underlying social issues of the time, in addition to being responsible for popularizing zombies, making them fall into the good graces of the general public. The movie brings together a good editing, realistic practical special effects for the time and a powerful social criticism to racism.
