Director Lars von Trier (of 'Melancholia' and 'Nymphomaniac') presents us with another controversial and shocking film. 'The House That Jack Built' tells the story of a serial killer over a 12 year period, making us enter his head and understand his motivations, his first murders and his evolution as a murderer - in a script inspired by Dante Alighieri's 'Inferno'. All of that gets new layers with Matt Dillon's (of 'Crash: At the Limit') incredible performance in the role of the protagonist. The cast also includes names such as Uma Thurman and Bruno Ganz (who even became a meme with his Hitler from 'The Downfall!'). It's a feature that divides opinions and which is not for everyone, so much so that more than 100 people left the Cannes Film Festival premiere - while those who stayed applauded and cheered for ten minutes after the end of the presentation. Nymphomaniac: Vol. I
Split into two parts for its commercial release due to its length, 'Nymphomaniac' is the last part of Danish director Lars von Trier's 'Depression Trilogy'. However, unlike the two previous installments ('Antichrist' and 'Melancholia'), this film has an acidic and darkly humorous sense to tell the story of a woman (played at different stages by Charlotte Gainsborough and Stacy Martin) who considers herself addicted to sex but rebels against the idea of love. The story reaches surprisingly sentimental and less exhausting conclusions about sex and intimacy, even if the sex scenes can be perceived as self-indulgent.
Nymphomaniac: Vol. II
The third part of Lars von Trier's 'Depression Trilogy', 'Nymphomaniac' was split into two volumes for commercial release due to its length, and it is the second half that suffers most of the adverse effects. 'Nymphomaniac: Vol. II' directs its attention to themes of sexual repression, depression, and guilt, even reflecting on its own narrative structure, provided by Joe's (Charlotte Gainsborough) narration to Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård). However, the tonal shifts can be perceived as abrupt, and some scenes seem forced in the final cut (make more sense in the director's cut). Nevertheless, it is the second half that ends up making the movie make sense in the aforementioned trilogy, along with 'Antichrist' and 'Melancholia'.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is the unlikely sequel to the feature film that placed the characters of this playful and childlike universe into a world of violence and horror. However, don't expect a production as weak as the previous film: with the success of the first installment at the box office, the production had more money to invest, and thus Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 manages to be more realistic, violent, and impressive compared to the first film. The characters' masks are much scarier, and it ceases to be a complete joke. It's still difficult to take the film entirely seriously, especially with this bizarre premise of Pooh and his friends seeking bloody revenge, but you can already feel more fear and, above all, immerse yourself in the wave of violence that the film promotes. To have fun with friends.
