Mandy

A peaceful logger seeks revenge against a hippie cult after they kidnap and kill his wife.

Trailer

Why watch this film?

In two words: Nicolas Cage. The actor, famous for alternating highs and lows in his career, is at his best here, in the role of a logger living a peaceful life alongside his wife, Mandy, in 1983. However, the emergence of a messianic figure puts him on a psychedelic, tragic, and bloody journey. With stunning photography (signed by Benjamin Loeb), director and screenwriter Panos Cosmatos takes us on a surreal, mysterious, and sinister revenge thriller - all with a subtext that discusses issues such as conservatism, religious fanaticism, and even male toxicity. In addition to Cage, the cast includes Andrea Risenborough ('Birdman'), Linus Roache (nominated for a Golden Globe for 'RFK') and Bull Duke ('The Predator'). Recommended for those looking for a surprising, bloody movie.
