Why watch this film?

Rupert Everett's critically acclaimed directorial and writing debut, 'The Happy Prince', was selected for the Berlin Film Festival. Although it is one of many cinematic adaptations of Oscar Wilde's life, the film brings a unique focus on aspects not often explored in previous works, including a satirical view of the society he lived in. Everett, also the protagonist, is backed by an excellent cast including Colin Firth, Emily Watson and Tom Wilkinson.
