Why watch this film?
"American Executioner" is a low-budget thriller that works thanks to the talent of Donald Sutherland (known to younger audiences for "The Hunger Games", but with works like "M.A.S.H." in his resume), who plays a retired judge who is kidnapped and taken to a brutal unofficial trial, broadcasted on the web. The idea behind the movie is a fascinating exercise in social justice in the internet age. Unfortunately, the script does not explore all the possibilities of a society outraged by a corrupt judicial system, but if you are a fan of police films, this one has enough originality to capture your attention.
