Why watch this film?
"The Lion King", the original, was an important part of the Disney animation renaissance, which regained relevance in the global cinema also due to that story about a little lion heir to the throne who is forced to face the usurping uncle, all based on references such as Shakespeare, the anime "Kimba, the White Lion" and even the Bible. Directed by Jon Favreau ("Mogli, the Wolf Boy"), the new "The Lion King" repeats the famous story, but loses the audience precisely because of the excess of realism it tries to achieve. Although displaced from what we see in the image, the original voice work is incredible, including names like Donald Glover, Beyoncé, Seth Rogen, James Earl Jones, Chitewel Ejiofor and many more. As the original songs composed by Elton John are also present, it is impossible not to get excited and sing "Circle of Life" and "Hakuna Matata" - even if reason is always telling you that the first version is still much better.

The Jungle Book
Despite 'Maleficent' and 'Cinderella', Disney's most dazzling live-action remake is 'The Jungle Book'. Directed by Jon Favreau, a favorite of the studio due to films like 'Iron Man' and 'The Lion King', the feature film seeks to update the story of the boy raised in the jungle and friend of bears, tigers and other animals. Here, the vigorous presence of the boy Neel Sethi helps to amplify the dynamic of the protagonist with the animals made with special effects and dubbed by names such as Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken. In addition, Favreau was able to add a dose of action and adventure that was not present in the original animated film, creating an interesting differentiation between the two productions. The story is the same. But the rhythm and the emotion felt are distinguished, creating two good and complementary experiences.
Chef
Deliciously - pardon the pun - funny. But it's also a movie that makes us think about our lives, family, work and the pursuit of happiness in what we do. Kudos to Jon Favreau, who wrote the screenplay, directed, starred and even called upon a cast (and what a cast!) of friends for the feature.
Iron Man 2
After the success of the first Iron Man, Marvel Studios brought back Tony Stark in a story that helps expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to getting to know more about Nick Fury and SHIELD, another heroine is introduced: the Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson – not to mention, of course, that James Rhodes dons the War Machine armor for the first time. The script itself is far from surprising, but it is competent in dealing with Stark's ego crisis and the repercussions of the technology he created on the rest of the world.
Iron Man
The first Marvel Studios movie that had, up until then, only licensed its characters to other studios. The beginning with Iron Man had no noble motives: it was just a character that sold more action figures. However, Robert Downey Jr.'s charm in the lead role, combined with Jon Favreau's direction ('Chef'), raised the bar. To give you an idea, the script wasn't ready during filming - not only was there a lot of re-writing, but also a lot of improvisation from the protagonist. Combining humor, action and drama, 'Iron Man' not only defined the foundations of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also dictated what would be done in superhero movies from then on.

Robot Dreams
Sometimes we get so carried away by the marketing power of studios like Disney Pixar, and we overlook other avenues for deep and powerful animated stories that don't need excessively complex plots to evoke emotions. Such is the case with Robot Dreams, a Hispanic-French production directed by Pablo Berger (2012’s Snow White), based on the eponymous graphic novel by Sara Varon. Set in New York during the 80s, the story follows Dog, whose solitary life leads him to buy a robot for companionship. Their friendship grows, but an unfortunate day at the beach forces them to separate and long for the day of their reunion. Virtually without dialogue, with vibrant animation and a captivating visual language, the film tells a simple yet profoundly moving story about (curiously) human relationships and the course they take despite (or because of) accidents, fortuitous circumstances, and uncontrollable events that happen throughout life.
Masha and the Bear: Twice the Fun
Masha leaves the forest in pursuit of an adventure in the city, where she encounters many unexpected situations and surprises while attending a wedding, and later seeks to do everything in her power to save Christmas.
