Why watch this film?

Mexican director Álvaro Curiel delivers an absurdist comedy full of irreverence and, yes, even social criticism with 'Acorazado'. With a hilarious performance by Silverio Palacios ('Matando Cabos'), the movie invites reflection on Mexican identity, but also critiques the injustice that is lived in Mexico, while at the same time satirizing the Cuban communist regime (a bomb, indeed). Nominated for two Ariel Awards (Best Screenplay and Best Female Co-Acting for Norma Angélica) and recipient of the Audience Award at the Morelia International Film Festival.
