"There are fables and tales so rooted in Western culture that they always yield reinterpretations. 'Cinderella' is one of those cases - which here is mixed with a Christmas story in the fifth part of this franchise (yes, a franchise). 'A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish' is a production of few ambitions and, as such, fulfills its mission of being mere entertainment, no more no less. The musical numbers are fun and stick in our heads, while the performances of the cast are generally solid, although one or another escape in the secondary characters. Generally, this is a sugar-coated movie, made for those who get nostalgic for Christmas and for all the romantics who blindly believe in the power of love."

Plot summary
Kat Emerson could really use a Christmas miracle. The aspiring singer-songwriter may have big dreams, but she has even bigger problems. Treated like a servant by her vain stepmother and self-involved stepsisters, Kat is forced into a demoralizing job as a singing elf at billionaire Terrence Wintergarden's Santa Land. But there is one bright spot to the job: Nick, the handsome new Santa at the tree lot.

This time's Cinderella, who is called Finley, gets a role in a Hollywood movie that is being filmed in the area and will do anything to get it. Following the premise of the fairy tale, the plot features a terrible stepmother and two twin brothers, this change was great as they are responsible for the funniest scenes in the movie."

There's a reason why, despite being so repetitive, teen romantic comedies like Clueless work so well: we've all been there, somehow. The plot of How to Date Billy Walsh is set in Britain, but follows the same formula as many other similar proposals from the United States: a guy, Archie, has been friends with Amelia since childhood, but secretly loves her. However, when he finally gathers the courage to confess, she falls for Billie Walsh, a handsome and athletic exchange student. The story is predictable and, except for a Netflix Sex Education-like layer of paint, there's not much new. However, it's a good contender for a Gen Z classic.
The Taste of Things
From Vietnamese-French director Anh Hung Tran (The Scent of Green Papaya) and starring the legendary Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel, The Taste of Things was France's selection for the 2024 Oscars, although it was not nominated. Set in 1889 and based on the character of Dodin-Bouffant created by Marcel Rouff, the story follows a chef (Magimel) enchanted by his cook (Binoche), for whom he feels not only culinary admiration, but genuine love. However, she is not ready to take the step into marriage and is happy and content with the relationship they have. Sensual in its visuality and narrative, it is a powerful story of love and about love, which, while not entirely breaking free from conventions, is elevated by the formidable talent of its protagonists.

Young and quirky Louisa "Lou" Clark moves from one job to the next to help her family make ends meet. Her cheerful attitude is put to the test when she becomes a caregiver for Will Traynor, a wealthy young banker left paralyzed from an accident two years earlier.
