Why watch this film?
In simple terms, 'Los Rodríguez y el más allá' is an absolutely family-friendly comedy with no greater ambitions than to provide a good time. Visually and narratively, the movie has several nostalgic elements that revisit the extravagance of classic movies and cartoons, in the line of 'The Addams Family' or 'The Jetsons', to name a couple of examples. Although the special effects are not out of this world, they manage to bring this story starring an international cast to life, including the always wonderful Geraldine Chaplin, Mexican Mariana Treviño ('Perfectos desconocidos'), Spanish Rossy de Palma ('Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown'), and even singer Plácido Domingo.
