Why watch this film?

Few figures in the history of classic Hollywood have a fame and talent in the same proportion as their controversies, tragedies and problems as Judy Garland. 'Sid & Judy' is a documentary about the actress made from Sid Luft's unpublished memories - who besides being the producer of the iconic 'A Star is Born' (the 1964 one), was the third of the five husbands of the legendary artist protagonist of 'The Wizard of Oz' - and the union that lasted the longest. The film is composed of recordings of Luft and Judy, footage with appearances of stars of the time, such as Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, and correspondence between the couple, whose words come to life with the voices of Jon Hamm ('In a Rhythm of Escape') and Jennifer Jason Leigh ('The Hateful Eight'). A documentary that works as an excellent complement to the biopic 'Judy', with Renée Zellweger - and that fans of the actress, of 'The Wizard of Oz' and of old Hollywood can not miss.
