From Mexican director Julián Hernández ('I Am the Happiness of This World'), 'Rencor tatuado' is a thriller with deep influences from old-school dark cinema - and made to present us with a story that, despite taking place in the 1990s, still reflects (unfortunately) the contemporary context of gender violence and femicides all over Mexico and, of course, the rest of Latin America. With an instantly recognizable visual style, the current and unfortunate reality blends with the fantasy of revenge against unpunished crimes and machismo through a heroine who strengthens herself by protecting others and doing justice with her own hands.

In his sixth feature-length film, Mexican filmmaker Julián Hernández ("I Am the Happiness of this World") continues with themes similar to those in his previous movie "Rencor Tatuado" (Tattooed Resentment), in which a vigilante fights against gender violence. Now with a star-studded cast including Ximena Romo ("Tell Me When"), Mabel Cadena ("The 41 Dance") and Paulina Goto ("Twenty-Something, Divorced and Fantastic"), the director makes "La diosa del asfalto" (“The Goddess of the Asphalt”) an amalgam of influences and topics, ranging from vigilante films to punk and 1980s Mexican cinema, with a strongly feminist discourse that questions male gaze and gender violence.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is the unlikely sequel to the feature film that placed the characters of this playful and childlike universe into a world of violence and horror. However, don't expect a production as weak as the previous film: with the success of the first installment at the box office, the production had more money to invest, and thus Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 manages to be more realistic, violent, and impressive compared to the first film. The characters' masks are much scarier, and it ceases to be a complete joke. It's still difficult to take the film entirely seriously, especially with this bizarre premise of Pooh and his friends seeking bloody revenge, but you can already feel more fear and, above all, immerse yourself in the wave of violence that the film promotes. To have fun with friends.
