Sports can have a transformative effect on people's lives, including those who have experienced great trauma. 'Bennett's War' follows an ex-Afghanistan War soldier who put his life on the line to help a fellow soldier and was discharged after an accident that almost cost him his leg. Back home, he sought out motocross as a path to overcoming and reconnecting with life. It is a modest film, with a tight budget, but it delivers a good story of overcoming, backed by interesting racing sequences that will please motorcycle fans.

Plot summary

Marshall Bennett is a young soldier with the Army Motorcycle Unit who survives an IED explosion in combat overseas and is medically discharged, with a broken back and leg, and sent back to the U.S. When he gets home to his family farm, he discovers that his dad, Cal Bennett, is behind on the mortgage and may lose the farm. Against all odds, Marshall Bennett pledges to help his family the only way he knows how: as a motocross racer.
