Why watch this film?

'Hope Lives Within Me' is a simple drama in premise and structure, and even if the post-9/11 theme feels a bit forced, it's a story that knows how to delve into the pain of loss and the feeling of senselessness. This is, in large part, thanks to Adam Sandler, who offers a surprising dramatic performance far from his typical simplistic comedies, forming a vulnerable and believable character with his moments of humor here and there (more akin to another of his great performances in 'Punch-Drunk Love'). Don Cheadle ('Hotel Rwanda: The Massacre') also delivers a solid job as emotional support, accompanied by an ensemble cast featuring Jada Pinkett Smith ('The Matrix Reloaded'), Liv Tyler ('The Lord of the Rings') and Donald Sutherland ('Pride and Prejudice').
