Why watch this film?

Religious themed movies gained strength in the 2010s, with polished productions and a very specific focus on the Christian audience, such as 'God's Not Dead' and 'Heaven Is for Real'. After a while, already observing a fatigue with this type of movie, Hollywood began to add another ingredient to these stories: music. There are films like 'I Can Only Imagine' and 'Overcomer'. And now, observing yet another fatigue of this specific type of film, they begin to add another ingredient: teenage romances. In 'I Still Believe', from the Erwin brothers, we follow the true story of Jeremy Camp (K.J. Apa), a gospel singer and songwriter who went through tense moments in his history - mainly involving cancer of his wife (Britt Robertson). Again, it is not an inventive or anything of the kind film. The directors resort to the same clichés as always and the music, although good, does not offer great moments. Still, the Christian audience will find a good message of overcoming and faith to feed the soul.
