From the beginning of caipira with Tonico and Tinoco, Milionário and José Rico and Inezita Barroso, passing through the successes of Chitãozinho & Xororó, Leonardo and Zezé di Camargo & Luciano and, mainly, until today with the "university students". The sertanejo has evolved over the years and has become a phenomenon. A money-making machine. And it is in this transformation and in this success that the good documentary 'Amor Sertanejo' focuses. In it, director Fabrício Bittar leaves Danilo Gentili's besteirol comedy to put an analytical look on the genre. After all, more than talking about this transformation of regional music to a more pop sound, the film brings a rare critical sense to be seen. There are provocations, reflections and questions. Even though the lack of essential interviewees, such as As Irmãs Galvão, César Menotti & Fabiano and Zezé di Camargo & Luciano, is perceptible, the important thing is there, highlighted in 78 minutes. And the best: it is not a documentary only for sertanejo fans. But for everyone who likes to understand more about music and how the industry has changed in recent years.

Now, finally, the first experiments outside this genre are emerging with titles like 'A Garota Invisível' and 'Como Hackear Seu Chefe'. In the latter case, filmmaker Fabrício Bittar ('Como se Tornar o Pior Aluno da Escola') plays with comedy while telling the story of a boy (Victor Lamoglia) who must reverse the mistake of sending a compromising email to his boss. Skirting the limitations of social distancing well, the feature film knows how to make humor while also presenting original narrative experiments. That is: you can have fun while also being surprised by the story. Good national surprise of the year.

It is no coincidence that the link between the stories is terror. The project is the result of a contest, the idea was to bring together films from different parts of the world about the pandemic. 'The Pandemic Anthology' is so close to reality that it becomes even more frightening.
Alice no Mundo da Internet
Starring Lorena Queiroz, a success as the protagonist of the novela 'Carinha de Anjo' from SBT, and with a cast that includes João Guilherme ('Tudo Por Um Pop Star'), Cassio Scapin ('Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum') and Pietra Quintela ('As Aventuras de Poliana'), the movie is a remake of the classic 'Alice in Wonderland'. This time, the universe is digital and includes funny takes such as a cat meme, forgotten folders and the computer's trash bin to build the adventure. The story is full of music and brings important lessons that should please the whole family.

It doesn't present reflections that aren't obvious to those who have read books or watched other films about the impact of social media, but it's a good starting point to learn about how misinformation works on the internet.

Directing duo Amanda McBaine and Jesse Moss, known for the award-winning documentary Boys State, return now for Girls State. But it would be a mistake to say it's just a female version of the first documentary. Through a select group of girls participating in a federal government simulation in Missouri, this film reveals, firstly, how American politics operates. But secondly, and more importantly, it explores how an environment supposedly empowering girls can both propel and limit them at the same time, raising questions about what we understand about power and the ways to exercise it.

At times, de Carbuccia and her works take more prominence than necessary, but she manages to present vital information.
