Why watch this film?
There are many examples of inspiring movies in which a team that fights against all odds manages to overcome adversity thanks to a coach who goes through his own story of overcoming (‘The Man Who Changed the Game’ is one of those examples). 'The Way Back' is a sports drama with a similar premise, but treated with an even more serious approach, with a protagonist immersed in alcoholism, depression and remorse. It is a solid performance by Ben Affleck (in a role that can also be very personal for the actor, who reported having gone through similar problems in his life). This is a feature-length given to sentimentality and a bit conventional within its type, but it is worth watching if you identify with these themes or need a “comeback” story to be inspired.

In The Accountant one must recognize its ambition as a character study (brilliantly acted by Ben Affleck), in addition to its satisfying action sequences. However, it is plagued by an overabundance of narrative details, an irregular pace, and more than a few far-fetched coincidences in the script. Ideal if you want to distract yourself with a decent action thriller, or if you're a fan of Anna Kendrick and want to see her in something other than a comedy.

Lie With Me (Arrête avec tes mensonges) - An emotional French drama directed by Olivier Peyo, has been awarded the award for Best Narrative Feature Film at FilmOut San Diego. The film follows a writer who returns to his hometown of Cognac after 35 years to represent a cognac brand and reunites with the son of his first love, a role played by Victor Belmondo, triggering an avalanche of passionate memories of his youth.
