Why watch this film?

Although 'Brave' is one of the most divisive entries in Pixar's filmography, it is a game-changer: it's the studio's first animated fairy tale, its first movie starring exclusively women, and at least partially directed by a woman (Brenda Chapman, director of 'The Prince of Egypt'). It is also one of the most technically innovative, as the level of detail to animate hair, fabrics and other textures required rewriting Pixar's animation software. On top of all that, at its core, it's a touching story about the relationship between a rebellious daughter and her stern mother, with which generations of viewers can relate.
