Trailer

Why watch this film?

Autism spectrum disorders are relatively well-known to the general public, but few truly understand what it is like to function in society with a brain that is “wired” differently than others. This is a beautiful animated short film presented in film festivals such as Tribeca (and awarded in many more), and inspired by its director and co-writer Floor Adams’ personal experiences working as a caretaker for people with different mental conditions. 'Mind My Mind' sensitively and cleverly portrays the difficulties that people with autism have when it comes to relating on a basic level, let alone emotionally or sexually. However, the short has an optimistic approach and shows how these people can learn to filter and process the sensory overload of their condition, in order to have beautiful experiences.

Plot summary

When relying on social scripts to survive the social world, it's not easy to go off-script. Especially if you're obsessed with German dive bombers and just want to date a girl.
