Why watch this film?

Belgian film highly praised by critics and featured in major film festivals in the country, 'Niet Schieten' reflects the feeling of a continent when talking about the effects of terrorism on a family's life. In this case, a boy who sees his parents and sister killed in an attack. Reminiscent of the French emotional drama 'Amanda', 'Niet Schieten' focuses on the personal dilemmas of this boy who tries to overcome the ghosts of terrorism, while his grandfather - with few paternal skills - tries to give light to the boy's darkened world. Special mention to the direction of Stijn Coninx (from the delightful and musical 'Marina'), who shows his most dramatic and challenging face in this new film.
