Mary

A family's dream of a charter-boat business turns into a nightmare on a ship with dark secrets.

Why watch this film?

Directed by Michael Goi (with plenty of experience in TV series such as 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' or 'American Horror Story'), 'Mary' is a movie with a promising premise (a horror story set on a ship at sea), but with an execution that falls short. The feature falls into the most used clichés of the genre, and its lack of atmospheric impact makes it look more like a mystery movie. Gary Oldman ('Bram Stoker's Dracula') and Emily Mortimer ('The Newsroom') bring more than enough talent to brighten up the dramatic side of the story, but horror fans won't find much noteworthy here.
